The call came in about a “monster” alligator trapped deep in a forgotten jungle swamp. We found Titan, a majestic 12-foot male, entangled in a mass of discarded fishing line and illegal traps. The sharp wire had sawed deep into his leg and tail, leaving painful, infected wounds. He was too weak to hunt, slowly starving in the water he once ruled. Our team spent hours carefully sedating and freeing him from the cruel wires, cleaning his wounds, and administering antibiotics. We left him with a tracking tag to monitor his recovery. Titan’s story is a painful reminder that human carelessness is the greatest predator these ancient creatures face.
